2020 Fall Session
BYOI's Youth Collective Program
Bring Your Own Improv and the Warwick Center for the Arts have a common interest in educating youth. It is with that in mind that we created a program in 2014 for teens, to teach them improv as well as self-confidence and problem-solving skills, which we call the BYOI Youth Collective.
The Youth Collective meets every Friday at 5:30 pm at the Warwick Center for the Arts. For each two month session, youth take one month of workshops followed immediately by one month of shows. This two-month session may be repeated as many times as the youth would like until they age out. Each group will be evaluated on their skills in the first workshop and that will determine the level of skills they will learn in that session.
Youth must be between the ages of 13 and 18 and no previous experience is required. Parental permission is required. The $195.00 fee must be paid in order to hold a youth’s spot. The workshops include lessons, the shows and free admission to the 7:00 pm shows for participants.
WCFA Members may purchase the workshops at a rate of $155. Memberships are $35 for an individual and $50 for a family of four. Please contact us about becoming a WCFA Member today.
If a class is full, please contact us to see about being placed on the waiting list.
BYOI's Adult Improv & Acting Workshop
Bring Your Own Improv is offering a six-week adult improv and acting workshop held on Mondays at 7:00 pm. These 2-hour workshops will focus on the basics of improvisation and acting and how they may be applied both on stage and in life. Participants will work on such things as scene work, listening, stage presence, confidence and the general ability to play.
The six-week workshop is $195 and may be purchased here or at one of our shows. This workshop is for ages 18 and up. Participants must wear comfortable shoes and bring their own water.
